Pepe Ozan's 'Monicacos' in SF's India Basin Shoreline Park

The dedication of Pepe Ozan's 'Monicacos de Esperanza' with Mayor Gavin Newsom and a celebration of the launch of the Blue Greenway Art Trail took place Saturday, June 24th from 11 am - 4 pm at India Basin Shoreline Park (adjoining Herons Head Park at the End of Evans Ave., off 3rd Street and across from the Box Shop). The free BBQ and community celebration featured music, dancing, speakers, circus performers, whaleboat race finish line, a sailboat race (2-8PM), a water display by the SFFD & free kayak rides. It was a great day out and a wonderful welcome for the 'Monicacos.'

The two taller figures will be de-installed temporarily in August so that they can be displayed, along with their brethren, at Burning Man 2006.
